The certifications

Two certifications, one headquarters

Campus CIAE simultaneously targets LEED v5 Platinum and EDGE v3.1 Advanced. Two independent frameworks (USGBC + IFC of the World Bank) validate the same design decisions. Turnkey consulting by Tribo Soluciones Sostenibles.

Why two

Cross-validation as anti-greenwashing proof

A single certification can be questioned. Two independent certifications — USGBC and IFC of the World Bank — validating the same thing from different methodologies reduce the doubt space.

LEED v5 is the most demanding technical standard in the North American sustainable building market. EDGE is the IFC metric for emerging markets, focused on quantifiable reduction of water, energy and embodied carbon consumption. That both frameworks — developed by independent organizations, with different methodologies, evaluating buildings from different markets — agree in validating Campus CIAE\'s decisions makes the decision verifiable engineering, not marketing.

The 4 mandatory

Credits without which there's no Platinum

LEED v5 establishes 4 credits that must be obtained at 100% to reach Platinum level. Campus CIAE covers them all.

EAc1 Anticipated

Electrification

5 / 5 points Platinum Mandatory
  • 100% electric, no natural gas. Electric cooking, AC, water heating via PV recovery
EAc3 Anticipated

Enhanced Energy Efficiency

10 / 10 points Platinum Mandatory
  • R-18 + Low-E + AC SEER 18 + 100% LED lighting + BMS scheduling. ~50% reduction vs ASHRAE baseline

EAc4 Anticipated

Renewable Energy

5 / 5 points Platinum Mandatory
  • 100 kWp PV system across 4 zones (carport, containers, warehouse, future slab). Generates 120% of consumption — net positive
MRc2 Anticipated

Reduce Embodied Carbon

6 / 6 points Platinum Mandatory
  • Container reuse + corten steel + 100% recycled steel sculptures + low-carbon cement. Target ≥40% reduction vs baseline

Project priority: PR4

The LEED consultant

Tribo Soluciones Sostenibles

"Campus CIAE doesn't seek the certificate for the certificate's sake. It seeks to demonstrate that in Mexico we can build under global standards without shortcuts. That's why we contracted turnkey consulting with cross-validated dual certification."

Frequently asked questions

What press and auditors ask us

What is LEED v5 Platinum?
LEED v5 is the most recent sustainable building certification standard from the U.S. Green Building Council (launched April 2025). Platinum is the highest level, requiring 80 points out of 110 possible. Campus CIAE targets 108 points — a +28 margin.
How much does LEED certification cost in Mexico?
Depends on project size, complexity and target level. For a 6,000 m² building with turnkey LEED v5 Platinum + EDGE Advanced, typical costs range between USD $40,000 — $120,000 including registration, certification, consulting and commissioning. Tribo provides per-project budget.
Why LEED v5 and not LEED v4?
LEED v5 (2025) is the USGBC's most current standard. It updates v4 priorities with: more weight on operational and embodied decarbonization, new climate resilience credits, social equity emphasis, and simplified points system. Building today under the most recent standard is the decision consistent with the reference character Campus CIAE seeks to have.
What makes EDGE different from LEED?
EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is the World Bank IFC certification. It's faster and more economical, focused on emerging markets. Requires minimum 20% reduction in water, energy and embodied carbon vs baseline. Advanced requires 40%+.
When is the certification awarded?
Official certification is issued after construction completion, IAQ testing and final USGBC review. Timeline: March 2027. Until then, the scorecard on this site is the project's working version, not the official certification.
Who audits?
The LEED consultant is Tribo Soluciones Sostenibles (4 LEED APs on the team). Final audit is by USGBC for LEED, and IFC for EDGE. They're independent organizations from both consultant and client.
How can it be verified?
Once certification is issued, it's publicly registered at usgbc.org/projects with the project ID. Anyone can verify it. During construction, we publish progress in the site journal.
Is it Mexico's first LEED v5 Platinum?
LEED v5 opened certification in November 2025. Campus CIAE is among the first Mexican projects to target Platinum under v5. The official ranking is issued by USGBC at certification time. We don't claim to be "the first" without that confirmation.
